Ashdown
Jane HARTLEY

I have been teaching Chemistry in London at an inner city Further Education college for the last 20 years. I have returned to live in the area in the last few years and am now
retired.
I am a socialist and as a teachers Union (NEU) rep and activist I am committed to high-quality education. I believe that all public bodies should pay decent wages, and in bringing contracted work in-house to improve working conditions.
I have campaigned for equality and I believe that racism, violence against women and homophobia are obstacles to equality that all public bodies must seek
to breakdown.
I will work for Hastings to continue to be ‘One Hastings Many Voices’
and specifically to ensure equality of access to services, safe
sanctuary for refugees and the local monitoring of hate crime.
If elected to represent Ashdown ward, I would work hard to hear the concerns of residents and ensure your voice is heard on the Council.
